TRP: Transposer

The TRP module transposes other instruments. It holds two transposers: TRP1 picks intervals at random, and TRP2 steps through a note sequence you play in.

Both run at the same time, and when both target the same instrument their transpositions add up. The tabs only choose which one you are editing.

A transposition is decided once, when the target instrument is triggered, and holds for that note. It adds to the instrument’s own pitch controls, such as PCH and TRP. Each transposer has its own target selector with a button for every instrument: 1-1 to 4-6, and SLC for the SLC module.

TRP1 : Scale-based Transposer

Randomly transposes its targets by an interval from the scale you switch on. The scale is built on each instrument’s own pitch rather than a fixed key: the leftmost key means no change, and each key to the right adds a semitone, up to an octave.

TRP1 does nothing while PROB is 0%. With only the leftmost key on, it can still move notes by octave when OCT is above 0%.

Parameter	Description
KEYBOARD	Switches the intervals TRP1 can choose from. Only the leftmost key is on by default.
OCTAVE SELECTOR	Switches the octave shifts TRP1 can add, from -2 to +2. -1, ±0, and +1 are on by default.
OCT	Sets the chance that a transposed note also moves to one of the selected octaves.
PROB	Sets the chance that a target is transposed at all when it is triggered.
TARGET SELECTOR	Selects the instruments to transpose.

TRP2 : Sequential Transposer

Transposes its targets through a sequence of up to 64 notes. Play the keyboard to add notes to the end of the sequence. The C at the left of the ±0 octave means no change. Notes reach from 24 semitones below it to 36 above.

The sequence moves on one step every time any of its targets is triggered, so targets share one step counter: with two targets playing the same rhythm, each gets every other note. The sequence starts over when the clock restarts.

Parameter	Description
OCTAVE SELECTOR	Chooses which octave the keyboard plays, from -2 to +2. In the parameter table its choices are listed as 0 to 4, which stand for -2 to +2.
CLEAR	Empties the sequence.
DELETE	Removes the last note of the sequence.
DIRECTION	Chooses the order the steps play in: forward, backward, or back and forth.
TARGET SELECTOR	Selects the instruments to transpose.
CUR / MAX	Shows the step now playing and the length of the sequence.
