Playing 2020 with Modular

Using an audio interface with multiple outputs (preferably DC-coupled), you can play modular synths alongside 2020.
Outputting Reset and Clock Signals
Open Audio Preferences and edit the TRIGGER OUTPUT settings.

Assign the reset and clock signals to any audio outputs you like.
In the example shown here, the reset signal is assigned to Analogue 7, and a 16th-note clock is assigned to Analogue 8.
If you need to adjust the sync timing, use the DELAY parameter.
Outputting Trigger Signals from 2020 Instruments
The trigger signal from each instrument in 2020 can also be assigned freely to any audio output.

The output pulse level changes according to the velocity value. Since many voice modules are triggered once the voltage exceeds a certain threshold, using a module capable of CV offset allows you to pass triggers to the modular system only when the velocity is high enough.
Trick: Generating Complex Clocks with Ghost Triggers
If you assign an instrument trigger to an audio output while configuring that instrument so it produces no audible sound, you can use 2020’s unique grid system and trigger probability controls to generate complex clocks that would be cumbersome to patch using only modular gear.
